Paintball

Today, I had my second time of paintball match with my classmates. It's a very nice experience to play with them.

Anybody that wish to play can go to PISA and play but it cost you RM50 with full body armour and 250 pallets. With 12 people all together, we manage to play for four rounds.

Surprisingly, this round I did not get any shot out from the armour itself. Most of the time,I'm out of ammo =.=
And for the second time, my gun got jam in the middle of the game again. BUT because the gun was jammed, it saved my team mate too. If the gun was in working condition, I would have friendly fire my team mate. Oops. Hahaha

Home made PCB

This was my first time doing PCB at home with all the apparatus given as a gift by friends.

The only thing I don't have at home is the UV light and a good laser printer. Anyway, that problem is solved by using the college's printer and the lab's UV light emitter.

So, at home I basically mix my own developer with water (using some basic judgment) I throw in my whole board and start shaking it for a minute and Poof.... There comes out the board with all the lines drawn =)

Developed board.

Next will be the etching session. Now, here is the problem.. My friend told me that they bought for me the liquid Ferric Chloride but when I opened it up, it seems to have DRIED UP!!!
I was like OMG!!! HOW??? This is when i start korek-ing some of the powders into the container and it look excatly fine grained lead.

Ferric Chloride in powder form

It is than i need to mix it with 60 Celcius water to it and i was like wondering how much water to add in order not to make it too dilute. Again i just simply judge and pour water into it. =D
When the water touches the powder, you can hear the sizzling sound coming out. That's when i lift up the ice cream box to check weather the acid got corrode and create a hole in the container =)

Looks like a galaxy full of stars

After that, throw the whole board into it and start SHAKING.

Shake and shake and shake for 10 minutes till my hand is tired and i just leave it there hoping the chemical can just do its job by removing the copper in the board while i go facebook. Somehow, after another 20 minutes, i returned and checked on the board, it gives me ZERO progress from where i left it.

Thats when i decide to continue shake it again. After 5 minutes..... still not done.

After 30 minutes, still shaking. Not done yet. Can see some progress.

After 45 minutes. STILL NOT DONE!!! *hand tired d

After 1 hour 5 minutes. Finally its done
=)

Picked up the board from the acid and wash the board till its clean and start drilling holes, putting the labels at the top, soldering and finally....

Tadaaa

The circuit was done. At the moment the board haven't gone through any testing yet. Therefore I dunno if anything goes wrong during the process =P

If you were to ask me what happen to the developer and the acid mixture... Well, after checking back at the developer bottle, i seem to had mix quite a lot of it. Therefore, i kept it back in a bottle and gonna reuse it in the future.
It changed to a beautiful blue

As for the Ferric Chloride...... I am not an environmental friendly engineering student =D

First day of class, i already ponteng 2 hour lab session to go play bowling. Temptations are hard to resist. Damn it
