End of 2010 Semester Break

Its the first post for the year 2011. Here are basically some of the events that I joined to kill time.

Event 1
Right after my last paper for the last semester for my Diploma, I spontaneously get to join my friends beach BBQ somewhere in Tanjung Bungah area.

The success of having this BBQ mainly depends on the weather. If it rains, say bye bye to the plan. Anyway, don't forget November and December was a raining season in Penang.

Another factor to be considered was the location to BBQ. It seems to be that it is quite difficult to find a public beach that is clean throughout the north of Penang. From birds eye view, you can see some of us travel from Tanjung Tokong up to Teluk Bahang down back to Tanjung Bungah before finally landing ourself in a beach next to Sunset Bistro.

Mass food production

Over here, I must stress something. Never let other people BBQ the food for you when that guy is busy chasing other "things". As a result of not obeying that law, he cooked food full of sand for us. =S

Me and two others polluting the sea =)

Event 2
Its been a while since me and my friends stayed back late in college to play games. I know its kinda weird when people usually goes cybercafe but we go College. Actually the Internet speed in college is quite fast plus the quiet location of it during the night which allows us to on loud loud the sounds and laugh out loud.

World of Warcraft

After going back at around 5am, the next day, I have to explain to my parents....
"I really didn't go clubbing.... I just go college play game nia!!!"

Event 3
I think I went Altera's Family Day. Actually. I don't have any family nor relatives working there. Its just that my former lecturer who is now working there invited us there to have a look around the building. Well anyway, I haven't enter to a factory before, so why not i make it my first =)

By the way, to all engineers out there, Altera is a good place to work. Starting pay of ur job as an IP engineer, RM4000..... O.O That's a lot man..

Not enough, no punch card system for employees of Altera; meaning you can choose to come to work or not to the office as long as you submit your product on time. This is called "Work from Home". Syioknya...

Still not enough??? Altera Cooperation provides a center for all their employees to release their stress whenever they are tired of working/ brainstorming. What facilities they provide???

A few complete setS of gym equipments

Still not enough??

How about a club house? A house full of leisure games such as:

Pool

Fusball

ASTRO HD TV with every packages

Two sets of Wii Console to play

and a few more such as Dart and board games like Chess, Monopoly, Uno, Chinese Chess and bla bla bla.... Well, I played Monopoly over there since I damn long didn't touch it.

Good Company to work in but I still want to join Agilent or Dell. Hahaha.. for some unknown reason.

Event 4
Hmm.. Haven't played badminton / exercise for a long time already. Symptoms of not plying long time ; cannot even serve for the first 3 times. Very sia suey...

At the moment, I don't think I can play any badminton as my knee seriously hurts. Must wear support each time I'm doing long walking. Got to buy new shuttlecocks soon. =(

Event 5
Had a one day trip to Pulau Jerejak.

Entrance from the Jetty to the Resort

Quite a nice trip especially when we get to sway at the hanging bridge and fly... LOL

Group photo before "shaking" at the bridge

Get to play the Flying Fox, Wall Climbing, Repelling and Cycling round the resort.

FAILED Spiderman

Well I guess that's what I had done for my semester break. Couldn't manage to get out of Malaysia as parents don't allow and I myself is already broke for the month.

It's kinda ridiculous doing only FIVE days activity for the past month right. Actually the rest of the days were like below: ~

me: *sleeping halfway..
Grandmother : Ah Guannnn!!!
me : Yes???
Grandmother : Come down and do this and do that...
me: Holiday leow la... Let me sleep a while.
Grandmother : !@#$%^
me : Ok Ok... Later I'll do for you
Grandmother : NOW!!!!
me: *Jumps out from the bed and run down

A busy semester break.

Grrr

Imagine your Desktop/Laptop is loaded with lots of software till when you move your mouse over the 'All Programs' on the Start menu and it showed you 3 full list of applications. Imagine your PC is updated with the latest updates on every software you installed or accumulated throughout the years you update through the Windows Update. Imagine all the games that you played and the tough levels that you had gone through and the saved games.

All the imagination above were shattered once you reformat your computer. At the moment, I can declare myself having phobia reformatting my PC as the whole reinstalling process took me a long period of time. Together with the sucky line in Malaysia, the time is extended.

Today.. Each time I shut down my computer, I have to wait 30 over updates to be installed. That's nothing to be so frustrating, it will auto shut down after it complete. The most frustrating part is after installing the updates it some updates auto restart the whole PC and leaved it on while I'm away. Good job Microsoft.
